Camps Focus on More than Just Basketball

Davis’ message to the campers was not just centered on basketball but also lessons that can be used in everyday life.

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis was a part of two successful camps this summer. The first of the Davis Camps kicked off on August 4th at the Team Automotive Group Sportsplex in Baton Rouge, LA. The second of the two camps was August 9th-10th at the Ward 3 Recreational Complex in Lake Charles, LA.

Both camps were open to ages 7 years old – 17 years old and the camp participants learned training skills, participated in shooting drills, and got one on one feedback from Davis.

Davis’ message to the campers was not just centered on basketball but also lessons that can be used in everyday life:

“It’s a beautiful thing doing something like this,’’ Davis toid OrlandoMagic.com. “We most definitely try to install some of the things that they need to be successful. We try to let them know that, `Hey, you might not become a basketball player. You might be a lawyer or a doctor or another influential person in the world and there’s a way of going about to get there.’ Basketball can teach them things like teamwork, focus and discipline – things that you need in life. We’re using the game of basketball to open other doors.’’
