DIG BIG into Literacy
DIG Magazine is once again partnering with the Glen “Big Baby” Davis Foundation, which encourages city youth through focusing on literacy, athletic and healthy recreational events & activities.
DIG Magazine is once again partnering with the Glen “Big Baby” Davis Foundation, which encourages city youth through focusing on literacy, athletic and healthy recreational events & activities. Glen Davis’ tour, Booking it with Baby, beginning Thursday, July 26th through Saturday, July 28th, will reach over 1,500 kids ages 5-15 with a goal to create awareness of childhood literacy and demonstrate the positive impact reading has on youth and on the entire community. DIG Magazine and the Glen, “Big Baby” Davis Foundation, in conjunction with the Manship Theatre is proud to announce an upcoming tour stop: DIG Big into Literacy, to be held on July 27th, 2012 on the 2nd Floor Lobby of the Shaw Center for the Arts. This event will be from 7:00-10:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Glen “Big Baby” Foundation. Its mission is supported by donations from individuals, corporations, grants and fundraising. DIG Big into Literacy attendees will have the opportunity to hang out with one of Baton Rouge’s most successful professional athletes, Glen “Big Baby” Davis, with the Orlando Magic. Outside of learning about his foundation and teaming up with him on how to get involved, supporters of DIG Big in Literacy will enjoy complimentary food, photo booth, music, door prizes, silent auction and more. Plus, attendees might have a chance to beat Glen at his 2nd favorite sport by challenging him to EA’s “NCAA Football 2013″ video game competition with a chance to win incredible prizes. Tickets are $21.50 and are available online at www.manshiptheatre.org and at the Manship Theatre Box Office leading up to the event.
